Week 4 Discussion 1 Share Your Peer Reviewed Study
Action research is a form of inquiry in which a problem is identified and a series of actions are planned as a way of gaining deeper understanding of the range of possible solutions. The purpose of this discussion is to promote reciprocal sharing of the study you reviewed with others in your community of practice (your peers in this course) who would value the knowledge you have gained through the peer review process of the study.
There are two parts to this discussion.
Part 1: Share the process and results of the action research study you peer reviewed in EDU 694 or ECE 660. At a minimum:
Describe the purpose of the study by writing a statement that completes the following sentence, The purpose of this study was to (two to three sentences).
Post the research question(s) – Include definitions of key technical terms, if necessary (one to three sentences).
Outcomes/Results or the so what? of the study – Answers to the research questions. (three to four sentences)
Assuming you would conduct another cycle of this study, what specific modifications or adjustments would you make, and why? (three to four sentences)
Explain why this study is important for teachers and other educational practitioners to read about. (two to three sentences)
Part 2:
Attach a link to your Folio.
In one paragraph, reflect on your experience with the redesign of the Week Three Assignment in terms of challenges you encountered and how you overcame those challenges. Also include how your assessment promotes learning and innovation skills and how it could be used as a tool for ongoing evaluation of student progress.

LEARNING AND INNOVATIONS SKILLS AND STUDENT ASSESSMENT
Introduction
This assignment will look at the relationship between high-quality assessment and learning and innovation skills and student assessment. When there is a high valuation, students can understand the subject that they are undertaking. On the other hand, it becomes easier for educators to evaluate if they meet the set goals. In this plan, I will incorporate the 21st- century skills, critical thinking, learning and innovation, and communication.
Redesign- alignment and mastery
In ECE 642 quality Curriculum in Early childhood education, we look at the balanced literacy in the class. Balanced literacy included looking at how we can teach fundamental skills such as story reading where repetitious words or language was in play. The summative assessment aims to measure outcome learning and instructional experiences, thus providing an index of the total effects of the lesson content. The summative assessment is used at the end of the unit lesson and helps measure the students’ comprehension after a lesson. These measurements are crucial to the teachers as it can help them to adjust accordingly.
Redesign learning and innovation skills
When a teacher has a lesson plan that incorporates a summative assessment and the 21st-century skill, the educators can use a technology program that will help collect information and give the result from the class with an aim o determining the students’ comprehension. With digital technology, teachers will be able to work with their learners more closely and efficiently (Radich, 2013). In my plan, I have incorporated the 21st-century requirement, which will help students become techno literate. Technology is essential since it supports the learning of the students.
Modification
In redesigning my lesson plan, I added the assessment part to ensure that my lesson plan meets the Common Core State Standard requirement. To ensure consistency, I was prompted to add technology in the lesson plan supporting the student’s learning assessment. By adding technology in the lesson, it will help gauge the student’s understanding and provide feedback to ensure that all the student needs are catered.
Evaluation
This assessment is critical as it will help in promoting learning and skills innovation amongst the students. Similarly, it will allow students to be able to think critically, be creative and communicate effectively (Hoeltke, 2008). In this case, high-quality assessment tools will help evaluate the students’ abilities and understand what they have learned at the end of the lesson. It is critical to conduct a summative assessment to ensure that this is achieved.
Reflection
It was difficult for me to come up with the assignment to redesign, but I finally made it through looking at where my strength lies.
Conclusion
In surmise, high-quality assessment is critical as it helps both the teachers and the students equally. The teachers can evaluate their educational goals and understand where they need to emphasize, and the students can demonstrate their knowledge of the lessons taught.
