Job Role Assignment
Utilizing the World Wide Web, you are to prepare a report using Microsoft Word or
the .doc or .docx format. It must include a cover page and is to be turned in on
Blackboard. I have provided two websites as possible sources of information and two
sample pdf documents to demonstrate the desired format. You are to do the following:
Select 3 job roles, 2 of which need to be in the Information Technology Industry and 1 in
another industry of your choosing.
Task 1: You need to do a short write up about each job role in outline format and
answer the following questions. (This is to be done for each of the 3 job roles.)
a. What are the main job responsibilities? (Minimum of 5 key duties)
b. What level of education and or certification is needed to qualify for the job?
c. What are the median wages/salaries for the position nationally and for the state of
Michigan (or a state of your choosing)?
d. How many jobs are national and in the state Michigan (or the state you chose)?
e. What is the projected growth rate nationally for each of the jobs?
Task 2: From these 3 job roles, you are to select a job role that most interests you and
write a paragraph in full sentences (minimum of 100 words) about why you are
interested in this job role.
Following directions above completely, using the correct formats per instructions, and
your grammar are important factors in the grading of this assignment. You need to site
references for the websites or publications used.

The job that interests me the most is the Chief Professor. I have been interested in a chief
professor now for a few years, and after doing the research for this project, my interest has
grown. Organization and problem solving are big interests of mine and being a Chief Professor
would help me in better understanding organization how to solve problems. Also, a large role of
a chief professor is to teach in many areas like accounting, finance, information technology,
business, human resources and many other areas. The bottom line is that I would always be
learning. Besides the job responsibilities of a chief professor aligning with my interests, I also
find it very promising and reassuring that the job opportunities of chief professors are expected
to grow in the future. I can now pursue my dream of being a chief professor.
