Information system in healthcare
Scenario: Good start to your scenario! Include more information about the patient’s readiness to learn and need more information on the learning needs (what the patient knows and does not know about hypertension) including her ability to use technology. Example: The patient is a college graduate that uses an iPhone regularly for texting, checking emails, and social media. Education: Great job identifying key factors for education. Expand your education plan to align with learning needs and purpose of your app. Make sure to address the method for delivery of the education. In this assignment, we are looking to use technology in the form of an app to teach the patient about their health problem. You can also address important points about the app to teach to the patient. mHealth Application: Excellent job on meeting all the requirements of this section. However, I recommend selecting a different app. This app will not help manage blood pressure. There are great apps available that can help with diet management, blood pressure logs, and even ones that sync with some blood pressure cuffs. Writing: Reading level was appropriate for audience. You need to have your app listed in APA format. You are on the right track for APA for the journal reference but some minor edits are needed

HYPERTENSION
A 65-year old man with decreased Cardiac output was scheduled for a cholecystectomy. His blood pressure was 231/121mmHg, pulse 50 beats/minute. hematocrit 37%, serum sodium 139mEq/L, and serum potassium 2.8mEq/L. His medication was inclusive of propranolol and hydrochlorothiazide.
Medical disease and differential diagnosis.
The nurse must first define what they understand by hypertension, indicate the severity, classification, and explain the causes and prevalence of the disease. Understand which clinical pattern of hypertension is witnessed, analyze what organs will be damaged because of long-term hypertension.
Determine if the patient is at risk of suffering from perioperative cardiac morbidity. Know what can be done to lower the blood pressure. Determine the mechanism action for antihypertensive drugs. Assess if antihypertensive
therapy influences the hemodynamic response to induction, intubation, and laryngoscopy. Determine whether the chronic angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE) affects the induction of the anesthetic agent.

Education:

Describe in detail content planned for teaching this patient in the scenario.

EDUCATION
The patient has a risk for decreased cardiac output, and therefore might be subject to the following risk factors: increase vascular resistance, vasoconstriction, and myocardial ischemia. The patient has expressed the need to be assisted in overcoming his disease problem. The nurse thus begins a recovery plan to assist the patient and maintain the blood pressure within a normal range. The preferred outcomes include participating in actives that will reduce the blood pressure which is, eating low salt and non-fatty diet, losing weight, and engaging in activities that prevent stress.

Identify the mHealth application:

Identify a mHealth app that could benefit the patient. Describe the app including the mHealth app name, purpose, intended audience, mobile device(s) upon which it will operate, where to download or obtain it. Include a working link if it is to be downloaded from a website. Add any other information you believe would be pertinent to this situation. Make sure to add a citation for this mHealth app in APA format.

INSTANT HEART RATE App.
To achieve this desired outcome, the nurse identified a Mhealth application (Instant Heart Rate) to help the patient manage his Blood pressure. This app turns the mobile phones camera lens into a heart rate monitor within ten seconds. The tool is an accurate way of measuring the blood pressure of the patient (Corpetti et al., 2017). This app is for all people who have hypertension and other heart-related diseases. The app can be downloaded from the play store or the apple store for $4.99. This Mhealth app can be used to make a pulse wavelength graph used to measure fatigue and fitness.
