nteresting Assignments: The assignments in this course were quite interesting but the assignment which really caught my attention was the Data Warehousing and Big Data as it is one of the new technologies that the companies are using. I also work in the same field where we implement data warehousing and big data tools. Some of the technologies and tools have been practical implemented like applying Big Data analysis to the data for enrichment.
Interesting Readings: The reading I found the most interesting is the one regarding the Green Computing where how load balancing can help eliminate the use of idle servers and can help make the environment green. Through this reading, I learned some new ideas which can be implemented in the workplace as a part of enhancement and an initiative for Green computing.
Perspective: In the course InfoTech Import in Strat Planning, I learned about the strategies used by the organizations to safeguard the firms important information so that it is not compromised to the outside world. I really enjoyed the different business strategies used by the firms to excel in their respective industries and the new trends that are driving these business decisions. It really helped me learn new things on how a business firm operates and molds according to the latest trends to incorporate it with continuously growing in the world.
Course Feedback: The course covers all basic trends in the field of IT. As new technologies and tools get added or updated, the course can be updated to incorporate the new tools so that students can learn about the new technologies and the way companies are adapting to them.
Discussion 2:
Before joining this course, I had no knowledge about the course or its importance. The course focused on the information technology leaders collaborative roles working with an organizations senior leadership. It also included aligning the business strategy with the strategy of IT, acting as the equal contributor to the formation of the organizational strategy, and integration of ethical policies and practices into the organization. I have learned on how to be proactive with the risk management practices and I have understood IT business management. Besides, the I have been able to comprehend the basics of blockchain technology and the economics of cloud computing.
Over the eight weeks that I have been taking this course, I have learned a lot of insights through the weekly discussion forums, the assignments, and the weekly learning materials that were shared by the professor. I have learned the benefits of eco-efficient technology adoption and I have understood how to balance the customer and shareholders values. The course has enabled me to learn how the emerging technologies affect the strategic planning of the organization.
Through the lessons and insights learned, I look forward to implement the same in my workplace as well as in my real-life situation. Am now able to apply the knowledge learned in helping in management of risks within our department as well as in management of business IT
Some of the assignments that I really liked includes but not limited to the first assignment that I did in this course since it gave me the glimpse about the course and some of the requirements that I was to encounter across the semester, and the assignment about the basics of blockchain. All the weekly materials were interesting to me.
