HU 240 Introduction to Humanities Unit 7 Final Project
Estimated time to complete: 4 hours
The final project asks you to demonstrate that you have gained mastery of these objectives:
Explain how and why study of the Humanities is relevant to contemporary human experience.
Analyze how personal experience affects one’s interpretation of humanities texts.
Throughout this course, you have discovered how looking at life from different perspectives expands
your view of the world, and provides a richer experience of life both individually and collectively.
In Unit 1 you learned about mythology, heroes and villains, philosophy, and ethics. You saw how
philosophy can frame an idea or situation completely differently depending upon the way that
you look at things.
In Unit 2 you learned about the importance of perception and point of view in the creation of
individual and collective memories. The way that people see life is the way that they remember
life.
In Unit 3 you discovered the different ways that religion shapes the reality of the followers, as
well as the impact that different religions have on life globally. Again, this opportunity to
examine other ways of thinking expands your own perceptions so that you understand the
perspectives of others a bit better.
In Unit 4 you found different ways of expressing the stories that shape your life, and the lives of
others. You read the dark tale of premeditated murder from Edgar Allen Poe and saw how his
protagonist justified a heinous act. Poetry is found in all types of forms, and you constructed
your own story and poem to start building your final assessment.
Unit 5 found music in all its multiple shapes and forms. From classical through death metal,
music adds a depth to the experience of life that no other medium possesses. You added music
to your final project story, and expanded the depth of your story.
Unit 6 expanded the definition of visual arts from just drawings or paintings to architecture, 3D
art, and dance. By adding multiple forms of expression to your final project, you tell a more
meaningful and emotionally powerful story to really draw your audience closer to your
experience.
Unit 7 provided the framework to see the world through the different cohorts of people. Life
looks very differently to people at different times of their lives. The impact of culture and cohort
adds another framework for you to reflect upon your story and think about other ways of
perceiving your experiences.
Assignment Instructions:
In this final project, tell your story using narrative, poetry, music, visual art, and reflection on how other
people may perceive your story.
You will create a 4 to 8 minute recorded presentation and post it as an attachment or a YouTube
video link.
Click on the Unit 7 Assignment title link above to submit your assignment.
In Units 4, 5, & 6, you created different components for a multimedia presentation for your final
project, either as a Powerpoint slide presentation, or a recorded video presentation. This presentation is
your creation about something important in your life.
In Unit 4, you chose one literary genre (comedy, drama, folk tale, fantasy, science fiction, etc.)
and wrote a story about something in your life that you care about or a significant experience in
your life. This story is the foundation of your short 4 to 8 minute presentation.
In Unit 5, you added music to your story either as background music added for emphasis, or as a
focal point of your presentation.
In Unit 6, you found artwork and pictures that can either be presented as slides in your
presentation, or pictures that you can show in your recording.
Finally you will pull it all together to either create a recorded video or Powerpoint presentation
of you (your voice as a voiceover) telling this story using the music and art to bring your story to
life.
The final recording should be between 4 to 8 minutes long.
In a Word document, provide a reflection on your final story and analyze your choices. UNIT 7 ASSESSMENT-YOUR STORY

Introduction
Humanities can be described as the framework that guides how people view and perceive creative and intellectual contributions to the society.
This is because culture and tradition as practiced by a society are embedded and promoted by their art and literary activities. This school of thought has been motivated by philosophers.
They promoted a common definition to the ethics, values, logic, and reasoning among other crucial cultural activities. They are as such important because they provide a different perspective of analyzing those arts in their culture.
This discussion follows the way various deduced forms of art are crucial in the process of expressing culture. Specifically, with regards to learning materials and my experiences with mythology, villains, heroes, philosophy and sociocultural ethics.

Furthermore, we shall the importance of creation narratives and the perception of individuals collective memories. This is in line with religion and how it shapes the reality of its individual followers. This provides a point of view to think about and consider others various perspectives.
This is even made better by the way we take these experiences and express our stories that have influenced personal lives and how to build stories and assessments.
Music has also been analyzed and as discussed over time has been used to create and bring about emotion regarding social issues. This is because it has the capability to discuss and highlight the issue in a brief and entertaining manner that will ensure the discussion is started and maintained about social issues.
Music has been used to highlight issues such as corruption, social inequality, and wrongful laws among other issues.

COLLECTIVE MEMORIES
I can recall clearly of the process before the day in the way I would engage in training during the games time with the athletics teams and other individuals and support staff of the institution.
By the time the tournament had arrived, I had been set a mindset that ensured that I was focused solely on the task at hand that I had registered to be engaging in that is the track and field events. On the day of the tournament, I can recall waking up very early due to the burdening anxiety that had gripped me to the core.
I had slept relatively well and felt well rested and ready to participate in these events. I warmed up and stretched out prior to getting ready and having a shower in order to get into a competitive mindset. The day had begun with a marvelous sunrise and there was indication of the day being generally good with the weather beaming of a conducive of supporting outdoor events.
The first competition I engaged in was the walking race. I recall being put in the middle isle and being instructed to stick to my lane in order to avoid disqualification.
I jumped and began shuffling my feet as quickly as I could and before I had realized the buzzer had rang indicating the end of the race. It all seemed so short and fast that I hadnt even realized I had come second place in the race.
The next event that I participated in is the short distance 100-meter dash. This is one of the most competitive races as individuals are usually fast and it is incredibly tough to keep up.
Next, I proceeded to take my breakfast and hurriedly got into the competition uniform that was to represent my team and school. All this while, I was nervous as I had never engaged in performance for a crowd this big.
It was the regional levels of the junior athletics competition and there were participants from institutions far and wide and they were all trained to become the best in their various fields.
We finally arrived at the venue of the activity and the number of people in the crowds took me by surprise as I was yet to see a huge number of spectators gathered in support of the sport and participants.
My anxiety grew but I chose to focus on the activity on hand. It was a long day to come after all.

MUSIC
Music has also been analyzed and as discussed over time has been used to create and bring about emotion regarding social issues.
This is because it has the capability to discuss and highlight the issue in a brief and entertaining manner that will ensure the discussion is started and maintained regarding social issues.
Music has been used to highlight issues such as corruption, social inequality, and wrongful laws among other issues.
I find it important because it creates a direct connection between the artist and the audience which allows the creation of conversation starters and the discussion of the topics depicted in the learning material.
I find it important as a form of expression because it is overlooked and regarded as a fad in this era of technological advancements at every turn making applications and developments obsolete in a matter of moments.
If properly used, it could be used to show short expressions and discussions of issues throughout the world by connecting to an audience directly and them relating and deciding on the issues for themselves. It is finally important to realize that art is far more than drawing or paintings but also sculptures and architecture

This whole experience allowed me to appreciate the importance of discipline from an early age despite all the hiccups. The track field became one of the most crucial representations of my effort in sportsmanship and the achievement of endurance sports.
The field became an avenue where I was able to express myself and overcome the mental hurdles that did not promote activity which was consuming such as this. The way it took dedication to ensure optimal performance from myself and my teammates required extreme focus.
I found this extremely soothing and sacred in a way. This is because there is no replica or copy of how the feeling of achievement and overcoming personal bias makes you feel. The way you understand your body and how you can rely on it and even push it further beyond your limits.
By the time we were crossing the finishing line, all I could hear was cheers of my name and I recall being confused and was wondering whether all the cheering was because I had conducted a foul or error.
Turns out, I had ran past the two individuals in front of me and ended up in a tie for the first position with another kid from the neighboring school. I have never been confused and happy at the same time as I could not wrap my head that I had managed to run that fast.
Till this day I am still amazed to the manner in which I was able to achieve those performances and win those awards but concludes that maybe the hard and long training was finally paying off.

Religion
There are various forms and types of religions. This is what makes us able to become tolerable to others and their religious practices and beliefs. As such, it is crucial to understand that religion is a crucial aspect of the social fabric. Diversity of religious beliefs makes us unique in our ways. It allows people to be who they are and believe
What they find to bring them peace and happiness. Religion is a central part of most individual identity. In addition, people should respect every one of the religion because we are all human beings and are free to choose our religion without facing scrutiny.
Often, religion is a contentious issue that can lead to conflict. The differences in accepted dogma and beliefs that can lead to intolerance and inflexibility in other beliefs, for example, it is okay for Christians to eat pork, but this is against Islam.
