Final Exam
Assignment: As educators and students, we all enter the classroom where we will form a temporary community with expectations, hopes, and maybe even fears. We are now reaching the end of our summer session two together studying Business and Professional Communication. How have your expectations, along with your hopes and fears for this class, come to pass in the five weeks we have spent together? How has your experience in this class affirmed, denied, or re-specified what you thought might happen before you arrived for the first meeting?
For this Final Exam, I would ask that you construct, craft, and write a time-traveling letter. In this letter to yourself, articulate the expectations you held for this class in comparison to what has come to pass. What do you know now you wish you has known then? What might you change if you got a do-over? Why? What stands out as the most meaningful moments of this experience and why? What have you learned from your fellow classmates during Discussion Board assignments? What chapters from our textbooks resonated with you and why? How do you view public speaking? Do you believe you are a good listener? Why/Why not? Do you believe you could/will be a strong leader in the classroom this upcoming school year? At your place of employment? Why/Why not? Do you believe you have the understandings to negotiate conflict in a teamwork setting? What advice do you wish might have been offered to you before you took this class? What hopes and exceptions, or even regrets and fears, do you now have that you wish you had realized sooner? And why?
I would encourage you to highlight our readings within your paper. Please be mindful of MLA citation as you apply understandings to your experience.
The letter must be no less than four full pages and no more than five full pages (Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, standard margins) in length.
Our Final Exam is due on our D2L page, under submission on, or before, August 21 (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. no late papers will be accepted!!
As I assess this Final, I will be mindful to if the student followed the instructions within the prompt. I will be mindful to examine the crafting of the introduction, body, and conclusion. I will focus attention if the student answered the questions posed within this document. I will also focus attention on spelling, grammar, and overall crafting of the essay.
Lastly, I realize that you may not address every question posed within this prompt. As I am grading, I will be mindful of this. My hope is that you will answer many of the questions! Use the questions as a guide.
This assignment is worth 100 points. Have fun with this Final! CH 10 ORGC 201.pdf
