Entrepreneurial Motivations Self-Assessment
For this self-assessment, we are interested in your perspectives on how your background, education, experiences, etc. have influenced your entrepreneurial motivations.
In a first-person narrative of approximately 4 single-spaced pages (12 point, Times New Roman, 1″ margins), we ask that you explore each of the elements discussed in this Module (self-efficacy, cognitive motivation, and tolerance for ambiguity) with an orientation towards your historic decision-making.
In your narrative, be sure to integrate your findings from the interim evaluations (self-efficacy, cognitive motivation, and tolerance for ambiguity). As I am your primary reader, you may assume that I am very familiar with these topics and their importance to entrepreneurship (i.e. please do not provide definitions of the terms, avoid discussing their importance to entrepreneurship in a general sense, etc.). The narrative should focus on you and your decision-making to date.
The assignment is not to convince the reader that you have outstanding entrepreneurial motivations, but to honestly and measurably (with your three interim evaluations) explore your own entrepreneurial motivations. We will not be grading the “goodness” of your entrepreneurial motivations. Instead, grading is based on how comprehensively and rationally you connect your entrepreneurial motivations (as measured with the three interim evaluations) with your historic decision-making.
Our objective with this assignment is to help you baseline your entrepreneurial motivations today in route to enhancing them throughout our program.
I need my evaluation results posted below implemented into The paper!
9/17/2020 Chapter 15: Tolerance of Change Scale
1/1
Tolerance of Change Scale
This measurement instrument is formally known as the “tolerance of ambiguity” scale.
Although it was developed 40 years ago, the instrument is still used today in research.
People with a high tolerance of ambiguity are comfortable with uncertainty, sudden change,
and new situations-characteristics of the hyperfast changes occurring in many
organizations today.
To calculate your score, we’ve assigned values to each statement as shown below. Your
results were then totalled to arrive at the tolerance of change score. Higher scores indicate
that you have a higher tolerance of ambiguity.

In this instrument you should put yourself in the position of someone who must gather and evaluate
information. The purpose is to investigate the ways you think about information you encounter.
There are no right or wrong answers, and one alternative is just as good as another. Try to indicate
the ways you do or would respond, not the ways you think you should respond.
Follow these instructions:
For each scenario there are three pairs of alternatives.
For each pair, select the alternative that comes closest to the way you would respond.
Answer each item. If you are not sure, make your best guess.
When you are finished answering all the questions, press the SCORE button at the bottom of
the exercise to tabulate your score.
Next, consult the scoring key in the The Cognitive Style Instrument Section of the answers page as a
basis for comparing your scores with others.
Please choose the appropriate alternative:

Interpreting your Score
Self-efficacy refers to a persons belief that he or she has the ability, motivation, and resources to complete a task
successfully. This particular scale is called a general self-efficacy scale because it estimates a persons self-
efficacy in a broad range of situations. The average general self-efficacy score varies from one group of people to
the next. For example, managers tend to have a somewhat higher general self-efficacy than young undergraduate
psychology students. The following table allows you to compare your general efficacy score to the range of scores
among undergraduate psychology students in the United States (77% female; average age 23).
