Railroad remains one of the technological milestone not only in American history but in the history of the world. Rail technology although began outside united states has rapidly changed and changed the way persons communicate and move in America than any other part of the world (Primmer, 2020). It is a historical technological development that did not only help America achieve its transportation goals but it greatly contributed to the development of different economic activities in United States. North east developed rapidly because of the railroads from 1810s to 1900s (Aldrich, 2018). Beginning 1827, American rail transport changed significantly contributing to the development of the economy during the industrial revolution. The development of the railway in American continued foe approximately 45 years beginning 1827 until 1873 when the country experienced financial panic that preceded the great economic depression.
Many historian have argued that united states economy develop rapidly because of the railway technology. Although the argument may be right to many, it is a debatable issue because there were other technological advancement that began in the same period which, can be attributed to the development of the countrys economy (Ayoola, 2019). There is no doubt that railway development aided the transportation of raw materials from the South plantations to the North where many companies were located (Dwiatmoko et al., 2020). This digital historical project proposal will provide evidence to show that railroad technology provided the foundation for United States economic development (Murfitt, 2017). The paper will base its evidence on the movement of human capital and raw materials which were important in the development of the economy during the industrial revolution era.

Theme: Life impact in the U.S due to development in technology, human, and social factors from 1877- present.

Reconstruction era is the period from 1865-1877 following the American Civil War where the Southern States of the Confederacy were controlled by the Federal Government and Social legislation and grant of new rights to black people were initiated. From the end of the reconstruction era in 1877 to date, life in the U.S has undergone immeasurable changes and development making it better for present living. Different people settling, the occurrence of different events, the development of different groups and organizations, technological development, and different religion are some of the factors that have largely contributed to changes in life. This proposal aims at supporting the contributing factors that have impacted lie in the U.S positively while condemning the development of illegal groups that oppress development in the U.S.
The U.S has experienced tremendous life impact from the end of the reconstruction era. Due to these changes, this topic becomes of importance to understand fully how various factors have contributed to the impact in life to develop or deteriorate. According to Rogowski (2018), reconstruction was pivotal to the American history that provided sustained peacetime into local communities where its important component was the Freedmen’s bureau. This proposal will indicate in detail the usefulness of the reconstruction era and how it affected the factors that have led to impact in life to date. Evaluating the impact magnitude of each contributing factor is the main focus of understanding the effectiveness of each factor. Steinhaeur (2015) affirms that reconstruction influenced transformation and abolishing various discriminating cultures hence led to a smooth transition into the following era and thus positive life impact was established. Different people were able to socialize without discrimination after the transition.

To acquire the root information of the impact caused by technology development, human and social factors to live in the U.S, various research methods and tools will be employed to help gather the information. According to Alves (2014), digital platforms provide an endless variety of tools to extract, analyze, and picture large data sets that enable historians to access relevant information that is reliable for their research. The research method to identify the impact of life in the U.S will be done through an online platform identifying each factor and its impact on life. The online platform provides the convenience of time and effort to look for the information on the ground. Also, cost-effective in that spending on traveling and purchase of material and tools is reduced. An online platform will suit better to perform a digital history proposal.
In conclusion, to realize the proper gathering of information and the smooth running of activities. This will include identifying various sites where historic information on the after reconstruction developments in the U.S and planning when to undertake the research planning on time and date. The proposal will focus on identifying how life has been impacted by diverse people, occasions, groups, organizations, and even technological developments.

History, as nearly no one seems to know, is not merely something to be read. And
it does not refer merely, or even principally, to the past. On the contrary, the great
force of history comes from the fact that we carry it within us, are unconsciously
controlled by it in many ways, and history is literally present in all that we do.

This course was intended to encourage you to do more than simply know American history. Our goal
all along has been to remind you how important it is to know your history. As Baldwin reminds us, we
all carry history within us. We need to face that history honestly and make courageous choices.

1. Your Story Topic. You have chosen an aspect of history that matters to you and took place during the
period we have studied this semester. Why does this topic in history resonate with you? How do you carry
this history within you? How does this history affect the choices you make in your own life? This is going
to be Your Story, so highlight your topic in a way that genuinely matters to who you are.

2. Outline Your Story. Relying on your knowledge of U.S. History, think about how your chosen topic
has evolved throughout American historyeven to the present day. You have already created a draft that
provides you with the framework (Essays one and two) to plan the final project.

3. Storymap it. You will be using StorymapJS to tell your story about American history. Go to
https://storymap.knightlab.com and, using your school email, register. It is free. Watch this introductory
video, then log in and test it out. You do NOT have to be a tech whiz to use this platform.

4. Tell Your Story. Use StorymapJS to highlight the evidence you have found. In addition to the primary
sources, you will need to incorporate visual aids found on the internet to support your topic. For this, you
can use social media or scholarly content such as the Library of Congress. As you bring the various social
media and links into your story, you are required to add your own voice and historical examples and
evidence to the mix. (much of this should already have been completed in the essays) You must insert
your own comments about the sources and why they matter. At a minimum, you are required to include
fifteen (15) different annotated links or sections. (you already have ten sources, so find a visual
representation for each of these sources. Then, you have five more sections that you need to complete,
these DO NOT have to be primary sources, but they must support your argument.

5. Share Your Story. When you are satisfied with the final product (and even then, you are always able
to continue to edit), you will publish your StorymapJS story. You will then post a link to your story to
our shared Cougar Courses site.
