HEALTHCARE STRATEGIC INITIATIVE 7
Healthcare Strategic Initiative
Introduction
Health services in various healthcare units continue to vary overtime which has led to the patient choices when it comes to picking the best clinic to depend on. Some of the attributes to these changes correlate with the rise in technology and access to various resources in the form of human labor as well as the fiscal strength of the organization. Notably, Cleveland Clinic in Ohio has deduced a strategic business plan aiming to improve the safety of the patient, which will make their patients regard their hospital system to be a health care facility that holds their safety as a top priority (Orsini.et.al.2020). With this in mind, the clinics strategic plan is based on various driving goals which include being a lifelong partner to the patients as they deliver services to them, engagement of the caregivers and make them part of the team, embrace the digital tools which will enhance the experience of the caregiver as well as that of the patient. These steps will ensure the clinic meets its top strategic goal of providing a safe environment to the patients.
Key stakeholders
The main stakeholders in the Clinic that will work to ensure achievement of the stated strategic plan include the administrative team which works closely and consultatively to ensure the company objective under the support and hard work of every employee. Tom Mihaljevic, M.D who is the president of Cleveland Clinic is the senior stakeholder of the initiative and the vision carrier. He works as the Chief Executive Officer in the company to oversee all programs that unveil in the company. The society is another set of stakeholders that provides the patients in the clinic hence attributes to the general growth of the company. An essential set of stakeholders is the employees who are the service providers in the clinic. Since the organization has set up a series of services to ensure there is maximum safety for the patients, nurses will play a key role to mold the general environment of the patient to ensure they are safe, secure and happy as they are being attended to by the doctor. Florence Nightingale pointed out in her environmental theory that a nurse need to provide a clean and safe environment to facilitate the faster recovery of the patient. In this regard Cleveland clinic will utilize the potential of their nurses to meet the new initiative in the company of providing the safest environment for the patient. The government of Ohio is another stakeholder who will work to ensure the healthcare unit has a well-established market for operation by offering them a license that will allow members of the public to get for service provision.
Categorizing and prioritizing stakeholders
In terms of categorization, the clinic management has organized various stakeholders depending on the roles they will play to ensure the attainment of the strategic plan. Parents have their position to play in the company which is mainly to provide patients that will be treated in the health unit (Ruggeri.et.al.2020). They will also be involved in the assessment of the services offered by the by the health unit focusing on the way patients are being treated to determine their safety. The community acts as the philosophical screen to the company as it will be providing the required human resource to the organization. Here these stakeholders will be fueling the process since the community is the source of the nurses and doctors that will seek to attain the strategic goal of the company. The legal sponsors and the top administration are the set of stakeholders that will ensure the health care unit is well staffed for efficient flow of communication and delivery of duties in the healthcare. Prioritization will be on ensuring nurses have a conducive environment to safe services to the patients. Currently the company offers considerably better services to the patients where 34% probability is that the patient will survive. This means the company can achieve its objective by maximizing its potential to ensure the patients receive more care at the health unit.
Engagement and Communication plan
Cleveland Clinic developed the R.E.D.E model for an efficient flow of communication within and outside the clinic which will work to ensure the objectives of the company are achieved. Using this model, the Relationship, Establishment, Development and Engagement has enabled the clinicians and all other stakeholders in the company to develop a unified conversation for circulation of relevant information. The management has initiated an in-service training to improve the relationship-centered communication skills. An effective communication in the company will lead to improved medical outcomes, the safety of the patients which is a strategic goal, patience adherence, patient satisfaction due to the efficiency of the clinical services in the company.
R.E.D.E serves to ensure communication is passed to patients with pain especially the out-patient group of patients that are not within the health care unit. This will ensure such patients are attended to with immediate effect to ensure their comfort ability (Mustafa.et.al.2019). They can as well deliver bad news to the relevant parts in the company to ensure an action is taken to avoid such cases, this is a sign of showing care to the patient and hence the related parent or guardian will be notified of the case. R.E.D.E also serves to ensure there is maximization of the health outcomes through such cases like motivational interviewing within the health unit as well as to the public on the general conduct and treatment of the patients in the company.
Mode of Communication

The existing good reputation from the health unit to the public gives them a good stand to bargain its capability to offer best services to the patients. Cleveland utilizes a large portion of its nurses from the adjacent society and hence they will treat their people with a whole heart when brought in.
Sponsorship and events
Cleveland Clinic president has good relations with the Ohio government which depends on their services for the health of her citizens. In regard to the new initiative it will be more easy for the government to offer them incentives as the social amenity. Other support comes from the World health organization which sees the clinic to be centrally placed to ensure the health of citizens in the area.
Conclusion
The desire of every health organization is to uphold the health of their patients through service delivery. This entails development of conducive environment that helps to promote the healing of the patient from the prevailing illness. Cleveland is among the key health centers in Ohio serving a large portion of patients in the region due to the professional depth of their doctors and nurses (Davis 2019). The move from management to develop a strategic initiative that drives towards improvement of the patients safety in the clinic received strong support from various stakeholders in the company including the government. Healthcare is an essential aspect that every leader will aspire to see their people happy and healthy, thus an initiative of this kind was imminent with the clinic of this kind. This will be a success based upon the current operations of the organization in which the front line staff members work diligently to ensure the patient improvement rate remains high. Reputation from the public remains promising as the government intervention will play a role not just to support the company initiative but also to ensure the health of the people.

The Role of Strategic Initiative in Budgeting
The Role of Strategic Initiative in Budgeting
Formulating strategic priorities in an organization ensures that the proposed budget and operations are laid towards achieving the goals and short-term objectives which will lead to the success of the organization (Liu, Wang, Li & Ma 2018). The role of Human resources and staff training is important in decision-making when it comes to proper choices made while formulating the budget policy. Strategic financial management plays a key role in financing the operations in the formulated budget to maximize profits. Any profit-making organization has a responsibility to ensure that the financial strategy explored by the company fits into the business plan used by that company and changes should be made to adjust the absolute differences. Organizations have the responsibility to convert their visions and goals into relevant practical results. For instance, an organization has a goal to strive and become the top competitor in the industry. In this case, the organizations big aim is to formulate a portfolio of strategic initiatives that oversee the organizations outcomes in terms of SWOT analysis.
The strategic goal of the organization is to become one of the top competitors in the industry. This is a poor strategic plan in my opinion. It is so general. Please read the suggestions that I had on the study aide for week 4 that I posted. Basing on SWOT analysis, the outcomes in response to the companys strengths include; the ability of the company to differentiate its competitors, adequacy of financial resources to finance the proposed strategic budget and the ability to innovate new programs and services that are aimed to improve product quality and therefore increase the company sales (Wolf & Floyd 2017). The outcomes that define the company weaknesses concerning this particular company goal include; the ability to lose key competent skills as the industry may be too competitive, the company may end up also incurring a decrease in the physical position with other competitors and the tendency of keeping a poor record of the implemented strategic plans. Priorities and opportunities are possible outcomes that the company expects from the formulated strategic initiatives. The expected opportunities include; market diversification, the expectation of weak competitors, venturing into new markets and segments, and also increasing the sales to reach more consumers (Ponomareva 2017). The threats related to this goal include; change in demography, influencing government policies, and the increasing pressure from competitors.
Simple budget for the strategic initiative
Profitmaking organizations aim at formulating a surplus budget that accommodates all the expenditures of the company using the available capital and relevant incomes. This will ensure that the company is working towards profit maximization.
I am not sure what this budget will be used to build?
Incomes/ Capital
Amount($)
Expenditures
Amount($)
Revenue from sales
23,640M
Operating expenses including; salaries, staffing, equipment
9,843M
Cost of sales
12,709M
Total Net Income
1,088M
Using the strategic budget above, we conclude that the companys goal of becoming the top competitor is achieved because the company maximized its profits as compared to the previous years, 2017 and 2018 (CHENG 2019). An overview from the financial statements year ended December 31st, 2019 provides that the company registered revenue from sales worth, 23.640Billion Us Dollars. In return, the company incurred a wide range of expenditures that added up to $9.843billion (Silva 2019). We, therefore, conclude that the company has strategized its budgeting initiatives that have ensured the company sticks to the proposed surplus budget and led to profit maximization. I do not see that name of your selected health care organization.

Some good work. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is a large change in our U.S. health care system. You covered the questions and have a good explanation of it in general terms. Some more quantitative data and analysis would have been helpful in analyzing this health care reform bill. It is really hard to point out the problems in the US health care system without more supporting numbers or statistics. Going forward, what is your opinion of it and any recommendations to improve it? Be sure to closely review the grading and feedback in the rubric for this assignment. Perhaps some more outside sources would have given you more to write about.
Not much analysis. & short.
