Academic and professional network

In nursing, a collaborative work relationship is essential for success. This is because few people can be successful when they work alone. In healthcare, a team of nurses, physicians, doctors and administrators work hand-in-hand to ensure effective and efficient patient care is achieved. Therefore, for anyone intending to be a successful nurse or MSN, he or she should collaborate with various teams of professionals and academic individuals to achieve this. In thispaper, I have identified and secured the participation of the following academic (at least two) and professional (at least two) individuals and/or teams to form the basis of my network. This network will help me to clarify my vision for success and will help guide me now and in the future.

Academic members for the basis of my network

NETWORK MEMBER 1

Name: Susan Hassmiller

Title: Senior adviser for Nursing

Organization: Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Academic or Professional: academic

I choose Susan as one of the academic individuals that will help me propel through a successful MSN career journey because of her dire qualifications and experience in advising nursing students towards achieving their dreams. Susan is a PhD holder, RN and FAAN. That implies that she understands what nursing career entails and her advice is essential in giving nursing students hope towards their future. She advises nursing students to find mentors to help them enhance their clinical experiences as well as leadership skills. Therefore, her experience and advice are vital in preparing me to become a successful nurse (Silvestre et al. 2017).

NETWORK MEMBER 2

Name: Betty Mattey

Title: president of the National Association of School Nurses

Organization: NASN

Academic or Professional: Academic

I choose Betty because she provides direction and advice to nursing schools regarding what is right and applicable for a successful nursing career. She provides 14 essentials for a successful nursing career which can be meaningful and effective towards my MSN program and career success.

Professional members for my MSN program and nursing career success

Network member 1

Name: Sherrie Dornberger

Title: executive director

Organization: Nursing Administration in Long Term Care

Academic/professional: professional

I selected this Sherrie as an individual who can support my success in the MSN program and as a practising nurse because of her experience as an executive director in the administration of long term care. Patient care is the primary purpose for all nurses; therefore, looking forward to someone conversant with administration and care of patients is ideal in mentoring me during my MSN program and achieving success as a practising nurse. Sherrie advises nursing students and practising nurses to pursue their further education in speciality organizations. This is because they will find resources and mentors to help them achieve success.

Network member 2

Name: Jacqueline Cole

Title: board of directors

Organization: AAMCN

Academic/professional: professional

I selected Cole as an individual professional ideal for my success in the MSN program and as a practising nurse because of her experience from the various qualifications she has and working as a board of director in AAMCN. She encourages practisingnurses to always yearn to learn each day. Since she is a professional in the nursing field, her experience and advice are ideal in helping me succeed in my nursing career. She encourages practising nurses and nursing students about the need to embrace technology and the need to specialize in some areas of nursing by obtaining a certification towards the same. Such advice will probably push me towards success (Chang & Daly, 2019).
