Discussion Prompt 1

Statistical data is crucial in the healthcare setting for providers desiring to provide evidence-based services. In the healthcare setting, I use statistical data in different areas to ensure my patients get quality services. The first case is comparing nursing practices. Statistical data in nursing helps check the effectiveness of nursing interventions. It would aid in comparing clinical decisions and also contrasting data on already made clinical decisions. The second instance whereby statistical data is useful is to enhance patient treatment. By using statistical information, nurses prioritize patient therapy by analyzing the data to identify patients who require serious medical attention and those who need follow-up. I use the data to identify patterns of signs and symptoms as well as the occurrences of certain particular infection. Statistical data are a vital part of nursing as, through such data, healthcare providers monitor local conditions and compare them to state, national and international trends (Scott & Mazhindu, 2014). Such data is crucial in the allocation of public and private funds. When statistics is used in allocation and distribution of resources, it makes effective development on patient care.
Discussion Prompt 2
In our various technological world screen time can be a big menace as most of the time, we spend time on TV, phone or even computer doing or watching something different. An increase in screen time has shown a massive hike in attention deficit disorder (ADHD) cases. These disorders are not only affecting adults but also the young people and children. Though the idea of the relationship between television watching and ADHD is presented, the study lacks brief support of the information. The researchers have not provided empirical support to show how television watching could affect individual life. The idea of reducing activities like reading is not as healthy as the time spent watching is short. The question I have to include; what are the dangers of too much screen tie? Does more screen time make ADHD signs worse? Does screen time lead to ADHD and vice versa?
