Moving to the Cloud

Understanding the potential of cloud computing and the benefits it offers the consumers is an essential part of an organization deciding what workloads it would host on the cloud. Essentially, cloud computing provides a means for the organization to keep data and programs on a third-party data center, while enabling it to create an IT infrastructure where the physical resources are managed by the cloud provider. Some of the reasons to move to the cloud include:
Scalability easily one of the biggest benefits cloud computing offers, scalability is the ability for the computing resources to scale up or down according to demand, without disruptions, and when required, ensuring the organization can meet demand spikes without degradation of its services (Lehrig et al., 2018).
Cost saving Cloud computing eliminates the high costs associated with acquiring, setting up, managing, and maintaining a local IT infrastructure. Cloud computing allows one to provision IT resources on demand and pay only for what they use.
Other benefits Cloud computing offers other additional benefits such as reliability, ubiquitous access, ease of recovery, reduced environmental impact, better security, and instant access to shared resources from anywhere on the globe.
With these benefits in mind, the organization can decide which workloads to move to the cloud depending on whether such a move would impact the confidentiality, integrity, or accessibility of the data or application. Due to the reliability of cloud computing, the organization should not hesitate to move its ERP systems to the cloud as well as other applications that would benefit from increased accessibility (Abd Elmonem et al., 2016). Such a move would untether the employees and provide them with the capability of working away from the physical offices and potentially boosting their productivity.
Another resource that could be moved to the cloud is the company data that could be utilize the data as a service cloud storage service. Storing data on the cloud provides ubiquitous access to both users and applications making it highly available and also accessible. However, the organization should consider the privacy requirements of the data it stores on the cloud and apply the appropriate security measures such as encryption during transfer and storage on the cloud. There are many cloud providers out there each offering varying levels of service guarantees and, thus, the organization should check all candidate providers service level agreements (SLAs) to find the service levels that fits its business requirements. Thus, the organization should move its applications and data to the cloud for increased accessibility, scalability, and reliability, enabling their employees to work from anywhere on the planet and providing uninterrupted services to its customers.

Yashwanth:
Cloud computing migration is an ideal way for an entity to analyze various information sources and ensure practical data analysis. It makes it easy to understand how to handle the increasing data volume and generate a reliable backup. It is an effective way to ensure quality services in business operations (Pham et al., 2017).
One reason for moving to a cloud-computing platform is to ensure efficiency and maximize data storage stability. Cloud computing platforms efficient since they save on cost rather than relying on premise infrastructure. Acknowledged the integration of cloud computing platforms the Internet of Things (IoT), which helps to ensure cost-effective strategies during data storage. It is easy to establish collaborative storage platforms through cloud computing platforms like Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), hence increasing efficiency in running critical business operations (Pham et al., 2017).
The cloud computing platform is also resourceful and creates an effective way to promote the testing environment. Cloud computing allows the development of testing environments, allowing an entity to explore various technology types in business operations. Analyzed the application virtualization techniques in the cloud computing platform, which allows testing software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in cloud computing (Pham et al., 2017). It is easy for an organization to analyze various data sources and ensure effective testing to enhance efficiency. There is an opportunity to survey computational resources and determine the resources necessary to engage in an enterprise and institution. The company can move workload related to the customers to ensure ease in remote access (Pham et al., 2017).
The strategy will create a platform whereby customers can interact with systems without needing to visit the company. The migration of cloud computing platforms will also promote collaboration for users and create a strategic way of relating to customers (Wang et al., 2017). The cloud computing platform has an advantage of flexibility, making it easy for the company to relate. Acknowledged that cloud computing allows users to outsource databases, promoting flexibility in cloud computing management. It is easy for cloud service providers to provide flexibility in the fog computing platform, which increases the connectivity of an organization with the customers (Wang et al., 2017).
To sum up, cloud computing migration will come with an advantage of increased flexibility, reduced cost of operations, and creating a testing platform for different infrastructures. The organization will have an opportunity to exploit various techniques that can help in maximizing the performance. The strategy will also increase the customers’ quality services, thus increasing the organization’s reputation (Wang et al., 2017).
