Applying Scholar-Practitioner Principles to Development of the Practicum Project
Scholar-practitioners stand with a foot in each of two worlds: one in academia and one in professional practice. This footing is guided by principles such as social justice, critical and innovative thought, lifelong learning, and scholarly inquiry.
You integrate these principles in your own work as you conclude the planning phase for your Practicum Project. While you do so, ensure that you give measured attention to crafting a proposal that effectively conveys the purpose, significance, and practicalities of your project.
1. In this weeks optional Discussion, you may share a draft of your Practicum Project Plan with your colleagues. This peer review and exchange of feedback can help you reflect on your project development thus far and may provide insights that will help you refine your paper prior to submitting it by the end of this week.

Develop any outstanding components of your Practicum Project Plan. For instance, you may need to continue your review of the literature and create your project timeline. You may wish to review the timeline table you completed for the Professional Experience Plan and update it as necessary.
Review the information on scholarly writing in this weeks Learning Resources, and integrate these principles as you develop your Practicum Project Plan.

Your Practicum Project Plan includes a synthesis of scholarly research justifying your project topic, as well as a formal plan for the implementation of your project and evaluation of your objectives. As such, the project plan offers the audienceincluding organizational stakeholdersclarity about what will take place and why.

To complete the Practicum Project Plan:
Write a 5-page scholarly paper in which you formulate a detailed plan for the problem or issue you are examining at your practicum site. Your paper should include the following:
1. Title. The title includes the name of your project and follows the Uniform-Guidelines format.
2. Introduction. The introduction includes the purpose of the paper, the goal of the project, and the name of the project. It also outlines the structure of the paper.
3. Goal statement. A goal statement identifies what you expect to accomplish, the focus area, and the population. It introduces the project and conveys, in broad terms, how you plan to solve a particular problem or issue.
4. Project objectives. Project objectives delineate your strategy for reaching the goal and the steps you will follow to complete the project. You must include two or three measurable objectives that use Application-level or higher verbs from Blooms Taxonomy.
5. Evidence-based review of the literature for project justification. This review provides evidence-based support for your identified problem, project methods, and evaluation. The literature should be directed toward justifying the project, not focus on potential solutions. You must include a review of your specializations professional-practice standards and guidelines related to your project and a minimum of five scholarly references for this section of the paper.

11. References. References should be formatted in APA style and reflect current nursing/health literature (i.e., published within the past 5 years).
