Perhaps one of the most exciting benefits of nursing informatics is the ability to deliver health information and education without needing to be physically present. While there are many definitions of telehealth, for this project consider this one:
Telehealth is a collection of means or methods for enhancing health care, public health, and health education delivery and support using telecommunications technologies (Center for Connected Health Policy, 2016).
For this project, you will research a specific populations health needs and determine how you could meet a specific need using telehealth.
This assignment consists of three parts:

PART 1 25 points

Through research, determine who, what, where, and how of your project. This will consist of an e-mail to the instructor where you will define:

Who: Define the target population for your effort. Consider factors such as age, gender,
ethnicity, location and health issues including disabilities.

What: Define your goal using SMART goal format.

Where: Decide where your population will be for this effort.

How: Decide what technologies you will use to deliver your information.

Send this information to the instructor via an e-mail. Be open to further defining or adjusting your project depending on what others in the class are doing.

PART 2 100 points

This will be a research paper at least 3 pages in length, in APA format, that includes:
The information from part 1.
An outline of your telehealth effort.
How will you determine if the information presented was understood?
What resources will you need? Consider technological resources, physical space, interpreters, etc.
How will you make up for the fact that you will not be face to face with the client(s)? Compare and contrast a face to face platform with Telehealth.

PART 3 100 points

You will do a presentation to the class on your telehealth effort. This presentation will be at least 10 minutes and not more than 15 minutes. You should provide the information from part 2 along with a short demonstration of your telehealth effort.

Informatic of Nursing Assignment

For this project my targeted group of patients will be the diabetic patients in Africa. I will be educating parents and kids about this disease but my focus will be on the older population (from 40 years and above) of men and women from African, most especially those that are not educated and live on the farm (the interior part) that does not have access to better treatment.

What: Define your goal using SMART goal format.
I will be focusing on teaching my population about what is diabetes and its prevention, management and treatment. I will use telehealth to educate them on causes, prevention and treatment; I will teach them the normal level of a blood sugar, showing them the different kinds of devices to use to know your sugar level and teaching them how to use them to monitor their sugar levels and the importance of keeping it normal.

Where: Decide where your population will be for this effort.
My population will be Liberia especially the rural area

How: Decide what technologies you will use to deliver your information.
I will use mobile phones and computer to deliver my information.
